Daughtry heads to the Big E
Country artists Montgomery Gentry and Trace Adkins as well as rock newcomers, Daughtry, have been booked to appear on the Comcast Arena Stage as The Big E in ticketed concerts this September.
Chris Daughtry, was seen by millions of TV viewers and is turning the rock world upside down with his groupm Daughtry, who will perform at The Big E Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. Composing songs since he was a teen, Daughtry wrote "Home" and collaborated on his new album titled "Daughtry" to pen "What I Want," "It's Not Over," "There And Back Again" and "All These Lives." The North Carolina native's album, with his newly minted band, is forging unprecedented sales and chart breakthroughs, becoming the number one top selling album in the country twice. He is the most successful new rock and roll singer and according to Soundscan, an information system that tracks sales of music and music video products in the U.S. and Canada, Daughtry will be the biggest album seller of 2007. Tickets are $38 and include admission to The Big E when purchased in advance of the show date.
Country music giant Adkins will bring his hard-driving concert tour to the Comcast Arena Stage Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. A seasoned performer, he keeps fans on their feet and dancing in the aisles throughout the entire set full of his smash hits. In the past decade, Adkins has built a remarkable career by combining traditional honky-tonk, blues and gospel into a sound that has earned him record sales in the millions and an induction into the prestigious Grand Ole Opry. Special guests, Bomshel, will open the show. Tickets are $30 and include admission to The Big E when purchased in advance of the show date.
Montgomery Gentry will perform Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. with special guest, Sarah Buxton. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry were nominated for a 2007 Academy of Country Music Award in the Top Vocal Duo category. Their latest release, "Some People Change," is an incredibly rich collection of their music. Their straightforward lyrics and gritty rock edge have captured the imaginations of untold millions. Tickets are $30 and include admission to The Big E when purchased in advance of the show date.

Free shows on the Comcast Arena Stage include: rocker John Jett, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m.; pop artist Brooke Hogan, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.; country artist Josh Turner, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.; and American Idol Taylor Hicks, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. Additional entertainment is being booked and announcements will be made on the website soon.
The Court of Honor Stage, sponsored by Comcast, will feature free shows by: JIGU! Thunder Drums of China, dynamic timpani drummers, daily at 11 a.m., 1 and 6:30 p.m.; Dian Diaz, pop, rhythm and blues and Latin singer Sept. 14-16 with a special LatinSalsa show Sept. 16 to celebrate "Cultura," The Big E's salute to National Hispanic Heritage month; top 40 hitmaker Maxine Nightingale, Sept. 17-20; the sweet soul music of The Tymes, Sept. 21-23; Chuck Negron lead singer of Three Dog Night, Sept. 24-27; and Country's PovertyNeck Hillbillies, Sept. 28-30. Shows take place at 3 and 8 p.m.
