Forest Park Zoo, seeking new director, names interimDate: 11/4/2016 SPRINGFIELD – Nathan Bazinet was named interim executive director for The Zoo in Forest Park and Education Center.
Bazinet, vice president of the Forest Park Zoological Society Board, works in the Development Office at Cooley Dickinson Health Care.
“In searching for the executive director, we are looking for an individual with the passion for the work that we do, vision for our future and the ability to bring us there. We realized that search could take a significant amount of time; having Nathan in the interim capacity ensures that our immediate operational needs are met and that we are prepared for the 2017 season,” Nunzio Bruno, Forest Park Zoo Board president, said. “Nathan brings a range of experience in development, operations management and strategic planning that will ensure we remain on track while we search for permanent leadership,”
Bazinet said, “I believe strongly in the zoo, care deeply for our animals, and recognize the dedication of the staff who work here 365 days a year. While in this role, I will focus on strengthening relationships with our community partners, bolstering our membership, and planning for the 2017 season.”
Nicholas Kinsman also joins the leadership team, having been promoted to Membership & Annual Giving manager.
Kinsman will perform a dual role focused on the restructure and management of annual memberships as well as the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development plan.
“Nick’s passion for the zoo, strong knowledge of our animals, and seamless ability to connect with our members, donors and guests is inspiring,” Bazinet said. “He will be an integral member of our senior leadership.”
Bruno added, “This is an exciting chapter for the Zoo in Forest Park. We capitalized on an opportunity to restructure our leadership team, provide better outreach to our members and donors, and implement a plan to ensure we remain the beloved community asset that we have been for decades more,” adds .
