By Lori O' Brien Correspondent SPRINGFIELDMusic enthusiasts will be treated to a day filled with Irish tunes as the John Boyle O'Reilly Club hosts its eighth annual Irish Music Festival on Aug. 12. A host of bands are scheduled to perform from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. in both the upstairs hall and the downstairs lounge simultaneously. In addition, entertainment will be featured under an outdoor tent. Performers kicking off the festivities at 3 p.m. include Leo Doherty and Charlie Bongovi in the upstairs hall, while The Cabeys perform in the downstairs lounge, and disc jockey Tim Hurley spins tunes under the outdoor tent. The afternoon performances will run through 6 p.m., with the exception of Hurley, who will continue until 9 p.m. Evening shows include Flynn 529 who will take the stage upstairs from 6 to 9 p.m., and Sundays Well will perform at the same time in the downstairs lounge. Closing out the evening festivities will be Jim Brady from 9 p.m. to midnight in the downstairs lounge, while Barleyjuice performs under the tent. An open music session will also be featured throughout the event. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other food items will be available during the festival which will be conducted rain or shine.
