Winnie the Pooh comes to life on stage at Bay Path UniversityDate: 3/20/2015 LONGMEADOW – Winnie the Pooh and the 100-Acre Woods are coming to Bay Path University’s stage in a weekend of performances.
Under the direction of Kevin Barlowski, the play will feature Bay Path students in the roles of this classic children’s story, along with Longmeadow residents Kean Jarvinen and Wyn Jarvinen, who will be playing Christopher Robin.
The narrator will be Noel Leary, the husband of Bay Path President Carol Leary.
This gentle, timeless tale of simple friendship will be lovingly told through life-size hand and rod puppets.
“Puppetry fits so nicely with this production,” Barlowski said. “The students took master puppet classes and have really embraced this art form. Some of the puppets require two people to manipulate their movements, so the cast has learned to work together differently behind the scenes, so to speak, to let the puppets be the main focus on the stage.
“I think children and adults will be enchanted by this performance,” he concluded.
Complementing the play, there will be a 100-Acre Café and an arts and crafts room where children can have a total creative experience.
