Tickets for the performance, priced at $39 and a limited number of $49 seats will be available for purchase at www.TheBigE.com beginning June 20 at 10 a.m. Tickets include Big E admission (a $15 value).
ZZ Top is the undisputed, longest running major rock band with all original members. Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard have been making music together for more than 40 years, on the road and in the studio. In recognition for their longtime contribution to Rock, Blues and Boogie, the trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
The group has been able to seamlessly adjust to the times. They have released 15 studio albums to date, their latest being the 2012 album, La Futura. On each album, they explore new ground, but always remain true to their classic, distinct sound, which fans all over the world love.
During their first decade together, ZZ Top recorded four albums and burst into the spotlight. It wasn’t until their third album, “Tres Hombres,” released in 1973, that they received national attention with “La Grange.” They followed up the success of that track with “Tush,” on the 1975 album, “Fandango!”
After a lengthy hiatus, the guys reunited and cranked out hit after hit. “Degüello” featured “Cheap Sunglasses,” and the 1983 Diamond certified album, “Eliminator,” produced the singles “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs,” “TV Dinners” and “Got Me Under Pressure.”
“Eliminator” was a pivotal point in ZZ Top’s career. It is their most successful release with over 10 million copies sold in the United States alone. Like the previous album “El Loco,” “Eliminator” experimented with synthesizers to complement their signature blues rock sound. The stylistic shift brought the band into the New Wave era and their music videos on MTV elevated them into superstardom.
ZZ Top’s music is instantly recognizable, powerful and soulful. They are true rock icons with their beards, cars, girls and that magic keychain. The Hall of Famers have performed for millions of fans worldwide, sold millions of records over the course of their career and have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas.
