Adornato named to head STCC's Assistance Corp.

SPRINGFIELD Paul D. Adornato of Longmeadow, a retired senior vice president for MassMutual Financial Group, has been named by the Springfield Technical Community College Board of Trustees to head the STCC Assistance Corporation, the entity that oversees management and development of the Technology Park.

Adornato was named to the STCC Assistance Corporation Board and also named its chair in December following the planned departure of former chair Brian Q. Corridan late last year.

Adornato said, "I welcome the opportunity to serve on the STCC Assistance Corporation in furthering the mission of the Technology Park. This is a dynamic business address and I hope in my tenure as board chair to bring the Tech Park story to a wider audience. The Park is an important piece of the economic development puzzle for the college, for downtown Springfield and for Western Massachusetts."

He worked for MassMutual for 37 years in a variety of areas including corporate pension, life insurance and employee benefits, was responsible for product lines sales and marketing with field representatives, managed the Client Services Division and was involved in the establishment of Strategic Business Units for various product lines. Following the company's merger with Connecticut Mutual he was assigned to the Hartford facility as lead executive for MassMutual before becoming senior vice president prior to his retirement.

He holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from American International College.
