| SPRINGFIELD The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts (ACWM) has announced their call for entries for the 2008 ADDY Awards. The annual competition recognizes creative excellence in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties, in all media including print, broadcast, interactive, out-of-home and public service advertising. The ADDY Awards competition is a three-tier national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Entry in the ACWM ADDY competition is the first step toward winning a national/international ADDY . A distinguished panel of advertising experts will select winners in Springfield on Feb. 23 and 24. The panel, all experienced judges on a national level, includes Anne McFadden, creative director emeritus, Blattner Brunner Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Bill Seeger, associate creative director in art, Hill Holiday of Boston; Don Brown, past president, Houston Advertising Federation, Brown Child LTD., Inc. of Houston, Texas; Jim Clark, creative director, 4th District AAF Communications Chair, Clark & Company of Niceville, Fla.; and Scott Mackey, president/creative director, Mackey Ink of Norfolk, Va. Entry fees for ACWM members are $60 for single entries and $80 for campaigns. Non member fees are $80 for single entries and $100 for campaigns. Student member fees are $20 for both single entries and campaigns. Student non member fees are $25 for both single entries and campaigns. Top local winning entries will be forwarded to the district competition without additional fees. To be eligible for consideration of an ADDY , all work must have published or aired between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2007. All ACWM ADDY entries must be registered, submitted, and paid in full by 5 p.m. on Feb. 22 to the MassLive office located at 32 Hampden St. in Springfield.
