Barney joins Heaphy Trust Group

SPRINGFIELD – Edward T. Heaphy Jr. is pleased to announce that Thomas W. Barney, certified financial planner, has joined Heaphy Trust Group and Heaphy Investments, LLC, which offer investment management, financial planning and fiduciary services to individuals, non-profits and retirement plans.

Barney ran the wealth management business for Berkshire Bank as a senior vice president and part of the bank’s senior management team for 17 years growing assets under management from $46 million to almost $700 million.

Barney has been a certified financial planner for more than 25 years and will focus on bringing new client relationships to the organization and offering financial planning services.

He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, a corporator of the Mason-Wright Foundation and president of the Estate Planning Council of Hampden County.

He is a graduate of the National Trust School and Trust Management School at Northwestern University.

He previously worked for Fleet Investment Services and Bank of Boston’s Private Bank as a vice president and private banker.

Barney resides in Longmeadow with his wife, Michele, and has two grown children.”
