Bay Path College presents business workshop

LONGMEADOW The Graduate School at Bay Path College will present "Safe, Secure, Successful: How GPS Can Keep Your Business Moving," on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., in Breck Suite, Wright Hall on the Longmeadow campus. Open to the public and free of charge, the event is part of the Graduate School's Implications and Opportunities Series within the College's fall semester Kaleidoscope Series. It will feature Dr. Elizabeth Rivet, assistant professor of information technology and director of the M.S. in Communications and Information Management Program at the College and students in that program.

Since more and more businesses and governments rely on commerce routes to ship time-perishable and highly sensitive material around the world, loss or theft of shipped materials can have major business and security ramifications.

The graduate worked with a New York City-based company to develop cutting-edge global positioning software that alerts shippers if physical objects stray from designated routes. Dr. Rivet and the students will discuss the results of their work and its implications for corporate, national and international security. Kaleidoscope is sponsored in part through the generosity of Novak Charter Oak, Insurance and Financial Services.
