Chevrolet ignites big leagues

SOUTHWICK Through a community outreach program targeting youth baseball organizations, Suburban Chevrolet is making big leagues ignite at a young age for local children.

"We are looking for an opportunity to link our sponsorship of Major Leaugue Baseball with our local communities. What we developed with the Chevy dealers was a perfect fit," Michael Valerio, Marketing Manager for Chevrolet in the Northeast, said. "Our participation shows how Chevrolet and their dealers will do whatever it takes to support their communites. Baseball is part of our nation's heritage, and where youngster's dreams can begin."

Suburban Chevrolet, donated equipment ranging from Catchers safety equipment to Batting helmets, to the Southwick Recreation Center Facility.

"Youth baseball leaugue's roots extend as far as baseball's itself," Geno Whitehead said. "It's a building block that teaches children about work ethic and respect for the game. Having the backing from our local Chevrolet dealers not only allows children to play the game, but also teaches the children some valuable life long skills."
