Director of MSBDC to address Rotary Club

SPRINGFIELD Dianne Fuller Doherty, regional director of the Western Massachusetts Regional Office of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network (MSBDC) will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on Feb. 27. Her topic will focus on Community Service: Getting involved locally and globally.

The MSBDC, part of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, offers free and confidential business advisory services, training programs and information and referral to small businesses in Western Massachusetts.

Doherty is active in civic affairs in the Greater Springfield area and is a founder of the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts, an endowment to support women and girls, based on the values of the International Women's Conference in Beijing. She serves on the boards of the Pioneer Valley Plan for Progress, Bay Path College, The Community Foundation of Western Mass. and the Regional Technology Corporation. She is a board member of Digital Divide Data, a U.S.-based company which offers employment and education to disadvantaged youth in Cambodia and Laos.

Doherty is a 2009 Pioneer Valley William Pynchon Community Service Award winner.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue. The Rotary luncheon is $17 per person and is open to the public.
