WNEC gears up for 2006-2007 Entrepreneurship Speaker Series

SPRINGFIELD The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship will open its 2006-2007 Entrepreneurship Speaker Series Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the S. Prestley Blake Law Center. Nadine Thompson, chief executive officer and president of the beauty and wellness products company Warm Spirit, will speak on "Doing Well by Doing Good." The event is free and open to the public.

As an advocate and noted speaker in the areas of racial equality, entrepreneurship, and empowerment, Thompson has lectured to a variety of audiences nationwide. Born in Trinidad, and raised in Toronto, Canada, she and fellow entrepreneur Daniel Wolf founded Warm Spirit, Inc., a cosmetics company dedicated to socially-responsible entrepreneurship and empowering women. Founded in 1999, Warm Spirit now has more than 20,000 direct-sales consultants nationwide. Thompson has received the Onyx Woman Economic Empowerment Award for her commitment to advancing women in the areas of entrepreneurship and personal financial growth.

The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship was established to provide graduate business and law students with an opportunity to offer practical consultation to entrepreneurs starting new or building existing small businesses in the community.
