SPRINGFIELD – Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., announced that Partner Susan Fentin will participate in the Baystate Health 2014 Diversity and Inclusion Conference.

This one-day conference will take place on Sept. 17 at the MassMutual Center from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring keynote speakers, skill development workshops, best practice sessions, and networking, offering the region’s diversity champions and leaders information and inspiration to build and support a diverse, inclusive and culturally competent workforce.

Fentin will be representing the firm at the event, which will feature her perspective as a panelist in a session titled, “Tackling Barriers to Success,” from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.

“I am pleased to join in the discussion of appropriate solutions to some of the problems that may accompany increased diversity and inclusion in the workforce,” Fentin said. “Skoler, Abbott & Presser exclusively represents the interests of employers, and we support efforts by our clients to increase diversity and inclusion in their workplaces.”

She continued, “The panel discussion in which I will participate will educate attendees about creative solutions for some common challenges and pitfalls of diversity and inclusion, ways to maintain focus, passion, and forward motion with limited budgets and resources, and strategies for engaging middle managers in diversity and inclusion efforts.”

This is the second year for Baystate Health’s conference on diversity and inclusion, which was an overwhelming success in 2013.  Baystate Health believes that diversity and inclusion are a business imperative, and this conference supports that goal. In alignment with its business goals, development goals, and in support of the community, the 2014 Baystate Health Diversity and Inclusion Conference will offer a unique opportunity to collaborate, share best practices, and collectively define what diversity and inclusion means for the Greater Springfield region.

Registration for the conference remains open until Sept. 15, includes parking and can be completed online at www.baystatehealth.com under the “About Us” tab. Registration fees for the full conference are $160 per person or for groups of eight or more at the discounted rate of $144 per person.
