Fenton cited in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

SPRINGFIELD – Attorney, Michael A. Fenton, of Springfield-based Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., has been included on a prestigious list of emerging legal professionals by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

The publication is a weekly newspaper, founded in 1972, that reports decisions issued by all the state and federal courts in Massachusetts, as well as changes to court rules, verdict and settlement reports, bar-discipline notices and all other news vital to attorneys in the Commonwealth.

The Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly list is known as Excellence in the Law and includes the top 25 emerging legal leaders within the Up & Coming Lawyers category along with ancillary honors in the categories of Pro Bono, Firm Administration, Marketing, Paralegal, Legal Journalism and the Daniel F. Toomey Judicial Excellence Award.

Fenton was chosen as a top emerging legal leader from hundreds of applicants.

He specializes in the areas of business planning, commercial real estate, and estate planning and is admitted to practice law in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Fenton also possesses a Master’s in Business Administration and is currently pursuing his CPA certification.

At the age of 22, he became the youngest person ever elected to the Springfield City Council. Currently in his third term on the City Council, Fenton was elected president of the City Council in 2014. The election took place the day after his 27th birthday, making him the youngest person in the city’s history to ever hold the position of president.

Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly hosted the 2014 Excellence in the Law event to celebrate leaders in the legal community on May 1 in Boston.
