| WILBRAHAM Friendly Ice Cream Corporation has announced the following promotion and appointment in the Financial and Accounting Services Department and Legal Department. Florence Tassinari has been promoted to the position of Vice President and Controller in the Financial and Accounting Services Department. In her 20 years with Friendly's, Tassinari has held various accounting positions, including Assistant Controller and Controller. Over the past few years, Tassinari has been responsible for maintaining a compliance with federal regulations of corporate governance disclosure and reporting required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In her new position Tassinari will be leading and directing the accounting, auditing, payroll and tax functions and will work extensively on reporting requirements for Sun Capital Partners, who own the company. Tassinari is a CPA. She graduated from American International College. Robert Sawyer has been appointed to the position of Vice President and General Counsel. Since joining the company as Deputy Counsel in 2000, Sawyer has provided legal counsel in the areas of franchising, real estate, manufacturing, distribution and marketing. In his new position, Sawyer will oversee all the legal affairs of the company. Sawyer is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Suffolk University Law School.
