HOLYOKE – The Dowd Insurance Agencies, a leading insurance provider serving New England for over 115 years, announced that Executive Vice President and Treasurer David Griffin Sr. is celebrating 20 years at the independent insurance agency. Griffin has more than 35 years’ experience in the industry.
“David has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of The Dowd Insurance Agencies over the last 20 years,” John E. Dowd, Jr., president and CEO of The Dowd Agencies, said. “His ability to leverage his nearly four decades of experience to further the agency mission, business objectives and development, allows The Dowd Insurance Agencies to continue to provide personalized, professional service through every step of the insurance process.”
Griffin, a West Springfield resident, works in the Holyoke office. He is a licensed insurance advisor and certified insurance councilor. Griffin began his career in the insurance industry in 1978 as a surety underwriter for Aetna Casualty. Since then, he has been a broker specializing in large commercial and contracting accounts. Griffin has been with The Dowd Insurance Agencies since December 1994. He was appointed treasurer of the independent agency in 2010 and transitioned from vice president to executive vice president in 2014.
Griffin is active in his community, having recently served as president of West Springfield Chamber of Commerce, West Springfield Rotary, Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, Springfield Country Club, Hampden County Insurance Agents and Chair of Mont Marie Health Care Center. He is also active with Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Western Massachusetts.
