Arielle R. Simmons of Chicopee recently joined the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission as a Planner/Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist. Simmons, a California native, has a master's of landscape architecture degree in environmental planning from the University of California, Berkeley. For the past four years, she has been using her GIS and programming skills to build geographic models and maps for a variety of clients, including fire/biomass/carbon modeling, flood modeling, facilities planning, and regional planning for various county-wide projects.
