Karen King
Karen King, of the Karen King Group, RE/MAX Teamwork Realty in Wilbraham, has been named the 2008 REALTOR of the Year by the REALTOR Association of Pioneer Valley. The announcement was made during the association's Annual Awards Banquet on May 6 at the Clarion Hotel in West Springfield.

As the highest honor given to a member, the REALTOR of the Year award is bestowed upon the one person who has shown outstanding service and devotion to the 1,900-member organization and the community over the past 17 months.

King has been a REALTOR since 1985. She has served on, and chaired various committees including the 2006 Grievance Committee, and holds active positions on the Professional Standards Committee and the Professional Development Work Group. She has diligently worked her way up to the Board of Directors at the REALTOR Association of Pioneer Valley.

At the state level, King is presently a state Mediator and has attended many events of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS. At the national level, she has attended many National Association of REALTORS' meetings and functions including the NAR Mid-Year Conference in Washington, D.C., Leadership Training and Workshops and the National Convention.

King has been active in many different activities in her community; a former recipient of the Palmer Rotarian of the Year Award, member of the Monson Planning Board, Monson Community Preservation Committee and the Monson Council on Aging.

King is very dedicated to her career and always puts others before herself. She holds the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), GRI (Graduate of the REALTOR Institute) and CBR (Certified Buyer Representative) professional designations. As team leader of the Karen King Group, she sells over 100 homes a year.

She now competes for the coveted title of Massachusetts REALTOR of the Year, an honor which will be announced later this year.
