Lesley University offering M.Ed. in East Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW Working teachers and other Western Massachusetts residents seeking a Master of Education are invited to a June 24 information session about Lesley University classes in East Longmeadow.

Lesley University has offered teacher education courses in East Longmeadow for 10 years. An initial licensure program in early childhood education (PreK-2) is planned for August at Birchland Park Middle School. An Integrated Teaching through the Arts program is scheduled to begin in the fall.

Degrees offered in East Longmeadow include initial licensure M.Ed. programs in early childhood education, elementary education and middle school education, as well as special education moderate disabilities and special education severe disabilities. Lesley also offers professional licensure M.Ed. programs, including degrees in literacy, mathematics education and the school's innovative Integrated Teaching through the Arts program.

"Lesley has degree programs for every teacher, offered on a schedule built for a working adult," said Carol Kiely, Lesley Regional Director for the Northeast. "We're offering a Master's degree close to home in a program that provides the colleagueship, knowledge and skills that professionals need."
