Interior Design Certificate Program

The very popular program is taught by Interior Designer Janet Lyon, long-time owner of Janet Lyon Interiors and currently an interior designer with Stickley Fine Furniture, will begin soon at STCC. This program is offered by the Center for Business and Technology at the college and provides participants with the opportunity to learn decorating and design secrets from a practicing professional. Students may choose to take single courses or complete all six of the courses required for the Certificate in Interior Design.

COURSE ON UNDERSTANDING WINE

The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has announced that they will offer a wine appreciation course that will provide participants with a detailed introduction to the wines of Europe, Australia, and the Americas through guided tastings of more than 80 wines. Taught by Gary Sandler, a local wine expert, the course will cover all major varieties of wine. In addition to tasting, discussion will include matching wine with food, how and why to store wine, the effects of aging, and what makes great wine great. DIDDEN TO LECTURE

Western New England College's D'Amour Library and School of Engineering will present a lecture by Kevin Didden, Founder, President, and CEO of CiDRA, on Feb. 27 at 12:45 p.m. in Sleith Hall Auditorium. Didden's lecture, titled "Disruptive Technology and Creating New Ventures," will touch on the importance of cash, people and technology in creating a successful new venture. The lecture is free and open to the public.
