Local census office manager to speak at Springfield Rotary April 9

SPRINGFIELD Richard Bennett, local census office manager in Springfield, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on April 9. His topic will be "The Census Who Knew." The focus will be on the enormity of the operation necessary to complete the census, its application and impact for neighborhoods, communities, the state and the nation.

Bennett has had a 35 year career in the management of forensic mental health programs. He has served as the executive director of the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center in New York and the director of the Whiting Forensic Division of the Connecticut Valley Hospital in Connecticut. He has served as a program manager for MHM Services Inc., a provider of mental health services to jails and prisons. He is currently a consultant with OASIS consultants, with a focus on public leadership and management.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue. The Rotary luncheon is $13 per person and is open to the public.
