SPRINGFIELD Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity (GSHFH) has announced the appointment of Sean T. Mitchell as Director of Development.

Mitchell previously served as the Director of Development and Major Gifts for the Enfield Catholic school system. Prior to working with the Enfield Catholic school system, Mitchell was employed by the American Heart Association as the Corporate Events Director, as well as the Special Events Director.

Mitchell holds a master's degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from American International College where he also holds bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. He currently lives in Monson with his wife of 12 years, Jessica, and their two sons, Jack and Logan.

Founded in 1987, GSHFH has a singular goal: to bring people who need decent housing together with people who can help. Since its inception, the organization has built over 32 owner occupied homes. The GSHFH sponsors "theme build" programs intended to attract specific interest groups wishing to take on an entire house build. Plans for 2007-08 includes a Women's Build at an undesignated location, a new home on Fordham Street, two additional projects at locations to be determined, and a Circle of Faith build on Pomona Street in Springfield. GSHFH celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
