GREATER SPRINGFIELD — Monson Savings Bank is sponsoring two complimentary workshops featuring Hyman Darling and Todd Ratner, the region's preeminent Estate Planning team from Bacon Wilson.

The workshops will provide information to help people minimize estate, gift, and income taxes; preserve assets; avoid probate; prevent crisis planning when a nursing home is needed; and secure the future for children with special needs.

The first workshop is about Special Needs Trusts. Darling and Ratner will review the need and options and provide vital information such as why a grandparent should never leave funds to a disabled child or grandchild. This workshop will be on May 1 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at The Kid's Village, 35 Post Office Park, Wilbraham.

The second workshop is about Estate Planning in general. This session will focus on wills, trusts and the many other steps people can take to preserve assets and peace of mind. This workshop will take place on May 8 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hampden Senior Center, 104 Allen St., Hampden.

"It is our pleasure to bring this important information to our customers and community," Steve Lowell, president of Monson Savings Bank, said. Those interested should call Lena Buteau at Monson Savings at 267-1203 for more information or to RSVP.
