Myhrum opens new Springfield law practice

SPRINGFIELD — Christopher B. Myhrum is pleased to announce the opening of his office for the private practice of law at 27 Lyman St., where he will continue to concentrate his practice in the areas of federal, state and local environmental law and litigation.
Since 1990, Myhrum has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the fields of environmental law and litigation and recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer. He has extensive experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, federal Superfund and Massachusetts Chapter 21E liability and waste site cleanup, management of asbestos and other hazardous materials, brownfields development, wetlands permitting, insurance coverage for environmental damage and land use issues.
Myhrum has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the fields of environmental law and litigation and recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.
Formerly a partner in the Springfield office of Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, LLP, where he chaired the Environmental Law Department and served as coordinator of the firm’s pro bono program, Myhrum is co-author of the Hazardous Materials Law chapter in the treatise Massachusetts Environmental Law. He has been a frequent lecturer and coordinator of environmental law programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and a speaker for other organizations, including the Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional Association.
Myhrum is a board member of Westmass Development Corpor-ation, a regional development organization. He continues to serve on the board of the Massachusetts Justice Project, which delivers legal assistance to financially distressed families and individuals. He has served as a board member and treasurer of the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation as the representative of Massachusetts County Bar Associations. A former member and president of the board of Springfield Day Nursery (Square One), he also served for several years on the Pioneer Valley Plan for Progress. Myhrum has been a Springfield resident since 1980. Locating his office in Springfield reflects an ongoing commitment to the city that has afforded him the opportunity to work with and learn from clients, judges, other lawyers and members of the community at large for more than 30 years.
