All former customers of Westbank Corporation, which NewAlliance acquired on Jan. 2 received vouchers in their bank statements over the last month that admitted four people to the event. The day's events included: Celebrity appearances from WNBA Connecticut Sun player Nykesha Sales and former NBA Celtics player JoJo White. Attendees were encouraged to bring their cameras and get autographs. A basketball free-throw challenge between local Boys & Girls Club representatives All participants received $1,000 for their club, with the winning club receiving $1,500. The first 750 guests to arrive with a NewAlliance voucher received a free lunch voucher to McDonald's from the Bank. Attendees also entered the NewAlliance raffle for a chance to win one of 23 prizes, including: a 32" flat screen television, digital cameras, Spalding basketballs and gift certificates.
