New members and promotions noted at United

WEST SPRINGFIELD Richard B. Collins, president and CEO of United Bank, recently announced that Michael Whitman and Terry Bennett have joined the staff at United Bank.

Michael Whitman has joined United as Vice President of Commercial Lending. Whitman is located at United's new East Longmeadow branch at 94 Shaker Rd., and brings with him over 10 years of credit and lending experience. He will be working closely with area businesses to help them with their commercial financing needs. He is an active member within the community, volunteering his time for organizations such as the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club and the Westfield State College Foundation. He and his family reside in East Longmeadow.

Terry Bennett has joined United as Administrative Officer bringing with her over 10 years experience most recently as Corporate Secretary of Woronoco Savings Bank. Her responsibilities include providing administrative support to the bank's president and CFO as well serving as Corporate Secretary for United Financial Bancorp Inc. Bennett is also a graduate of Bay Path College with a Bachelor of Science in Executive Management. She and her family reside in Westfield.

Deborah M. Gebo was promoted to Senior Vice President, Retail Banking. An employee for more than 20 years, she plans, manages and coordinates the activities of the retail banking division. Gebo graduated with honors from Bay Path College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and the National School of Banking at Fairfield University. She resides in Longmeadow.

Joan B. Klinakis was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations. With over 30 years banking experience, 16 years at United Bank, she manages the deposit, loan and client services departments of the bank and co-chairs the bank's Compliance Committee. Klinakis resides in Chicopee.

Miriam J. Siegel was promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources. A 15-year employee of the bank, she oversees the hiring and training of all employees. A resident of Longmeadow and an active member of her community, Siegel is an instructor for the Center for Financial Training and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
