| SPRINGFIELD Paul Peter Nicolai, Esq. has been named to the Strategic Development Committee of the American Bar Association's Center for Professional Responsibility. Appointed by the chair of the Center's Coordinating Council, Nicolai and his committee members are charged with promoting the resources available to attorneys nationwide on legal ethics, professional regulation, professionalism and client protection mechanisms through the Center for Professional Responsibility. During Nicolai's one-year appointment, he will develop strategic program and planning efforts to increase awareness of the Center's resources and promote discussion and resolution of pressing issues of professional responsibility among attorneys and judges. Nicolai's appointment comes at an historic moment in ABA history, as 100 years ago it adopted the Canons of Professional Ethics, the first set of model standards of ethical conduct for lawyers nationwide.
