Odyssey Bookshop co-owner speaks at Springfield Rotary on March 19

SPRINGFIELD Joan Grenier, co-owner of Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on March 19. Grenier, along with assistant manager Emily Crowe, will discuss "Book Buzz: Books People Are Talking About."

The Odyssey Bookshop was established in 1963 by Romeo Grenier, a French-Canadian immigrant who arrived in Holyoke in 1923 at the age of 13. Joan Grenier took ownership from her father in 1991. In 1998, Neil Novik joined the business as co-owner, bringing his expertise in the crime fiction genre, management and technology areas.

Grenier has been a member of the New England Independent Booksellers Association's Advisory Council and the American Booksellers Association's Advisory Council. She is also a member of the steering committee of Pioneer Valley Local First and the South Hadley Farmers' Market.

Emily Crowe has been the assistant manager and buyer of the Odyssey Bookshop for over three years. She is currently serving the book community as a member of the New England Independent Booksellers Association's Advisory council.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame on West Columbus Avenue and is a proud member of Rotary International. The Rotary luncheon, with guest speakers Joan Grenier and Emily Crowe, is $13 per person and is open to the public.
