Precision Auto Repair to open in West Side

Date: 10/2/2014

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Precision Auto Repair has announced that they have completed the move to their new location on Route 20 in West Springfield. The building located at 12 South Blvd. in West Springfield that was formerly known as “Griffin’s Tire and Battery” since the early 1900’s has been renovated and restored to it’s former glory.

“I grew up here in town (West Springfield) and have been looking at this building since I was a kid. I felt that the building had a good layout, excellent accessibility, incredible visibility, but was a little out of date” James Stephenson, president of Precision Auto Repair, said.

When asked why he chose this location he added, “The building was always sort of a landmark when I was growing up. I opened my first shop on Bosworth Street (in West Springfield) about nine years ago and it was a very positive experience. We ended up moving over the bridge to Springfield which worked well for us but didn’t offer much room for expansion. So I knew that I wanted to move the business back to town because of all the support the people of this wonderful town and the surrounding towns have given us over the years. This location was the best option in terms of centrally locating our facility to accommodate all the people that have supported us throughout the years. Also, by renovating and updating this landmark I felt that it would give the people that drive by something nice to look at.”

Precision Auto Repair will host a grand opening customer appreciation event on Oct. 4 at 10 a.m.

“We will have food, refreshments, live music, and free gifts for everyone in attendance. We will also be accepting monetary and clothing donations to help those less fortunate going into the fall. Jackets, hats, sweaters, and gloves are always a big help. ” Stephenson said.

The event will start with a ribbon cutting by the Stephenson Family and Mayor Edward Sullivan followed by live entertainment and lunch. All are welcome to attend.
