PVPC makes three staffing additions

SPRINGFIELD – The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) announced new staff additions.

Joshua A. Garcia of Holyoke has joined the PVPC as Municipal Services Coordinator. Garcia holds a Masters in Public Administration from Westfield State University. Previously, he worked for the Holyoke Housing Authority, most recently managing more than 400 public housing units. Garcia serves as chair of the board of Nueva Esperanza Inc. and represents Ward 1 on the Holyoke School Committee.

Erica R. Moody of Ellington, Conn., has joined the PVPC as Planning Assistant. Moody holds a B.A. in Geographic Analysis from Mount Holyoke College. She most recently served an internship with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Hartford, a national community development organization dedicated to helping local residents and organizations build healthy and sustainable communities.

Nekeisha N. Nixon of Springfield has joined the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission as Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner. Nixon holds an M.S. in Epidemiology and a B.S. in Public Health Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was a Commonwealth Honors Scholar. She most recently served a two-year internship with PVPC, working directly with the Hampden County Health Coalition on emergency preparedness exercises and related activities.
