| Maybury is recipient of Who Gets It award The Safety Council of Western New England hosted its 89th Annual Safety Awards Ceremony on May 2 and the Special Guest President and CEO of the National Safety Council Alan C. McMillan spoke on the topic of The Business Case For Safety. Over 40 safety awards were presented to Companies in Western Massachusetts. Safety awards were presented to companies like Yankee Candle, Top Flite Golf, H P Hood, Friendly's and Hasbro Games. Over 225 attendees gathered to celebrate their company's 2005 safety accomplishments. The SCWNE presented the 2nd Annual "CEO Who Gets It" Safety and Health Award. This award recognizes organizations and their leaders for outstanding achievements in safety and health, community service and responsible citizenship. This year's recipient was John Maybury of Maybury Material Handling in East Longmeadow, MA. Maybury has served on the Board of Directors for SCWNE and is currently the President of the national organization MHEDA (Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association) The SCWNE is an 89-year old, non-profit, safety training organization dedicated to the prevention of illness, injury and death through safety education and training.
