Simpson tabbed United Bank's newest commercial banking officer

WEST SPRINGFIELD — Richard B. Collins, president and CEO of United Bank, recently announced the promotion of Pamela Simpson to the position of commercial banking officer.

Working from United's Northampton branch, Simpson's primary responsibility will be business development in the Hampshire County marketplace.

Simpson joined United Bank's credit department in 2010 with more than 10 years of financial services experience, also having served in several professional sales and management roles during her career. Most recently, she was with consulting firm QB Inc. in South Hadley, where she had a core leadership role in marketing plan development and implementation, and in sales management.

Earlier in her career, she was assistant vice president with the insurance industry corporate lending group at Shawmut Bank/Connecticut National Bank in Hartford, Conn., served as a commercial real estate appraiser with Crowley & Associates and was finance director for Mount Holyoke College's Alumnae Association.

Simpson's community involvement is exemplified through her founding and continued role as vice president of the Michael E. Smith Endowment for Excellence in Education, which provides grant funding throughout the South Hadley public school system.

A South Hadley resident, Simpson is a summa cum laude graduate of Babson College in Wellesley, where she earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and communications.

She received an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
