Skoler, Abbott & Presser welcome new associates

SPRINGFIELD – Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., a labor and employment law firm serving the greater Springfield area, has announced the addition of two new associates, David W. McBride and Erica E. Flores.

“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of David and Erica to the Skoler Abbott team of labor and employment law professionals,” Skoler Abbott Attorney Susan Fentin said. “David and Erica will be terrific additions to our practice, and we’re excited to have them join the firm.”

Flores joined Skoler Abbott after relocating to Massachusetts from Pennsylvania, where she was an associate in the employment law practice group at the Pennsylvania office of Morgan Lewis. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2001.

Prior to joining Skoler Abbott, Flores successfully defended employers in single-plaintiff and class action discrimination, harassment and retaliation litigation, wage and hour litigation, and breach of contract or non-competition litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has also defended employers, employee benefit plans and benefit plan fiduciaries against a variety of ERISA breach of fiduciary duty, prohibited transaction and benefits claims. In addition to her litigation practice, Flores regularly advises clients with respect to day-to-day employment issues including decisions regarding adverse employment actions and litigation avoidance.

From 2005 to 2006, Flores served as a clerk to the Honorable Russell M. Nigro, associate justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and she has been published in a variety of legal trade press publications.

McBride is a 2013 graduate from the Cornell Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Notre Dame in 2008. His practice is concentrated in labor law and employment litigation.

Previously, he gained experience at a major labor union located in New York where he worked on labor and employment law issues including employer compliance with federal laws as well as assisted in preparation for litigation and arbitration.
