STCC offers course for those preparing to take real estate exam

Date: 2/11/2009

Springfield Technical Community College is a state-approved real estate school and the Center for Business and Technology (CBT) at STCC will offer "Preparation for the Real Estate Exam," a state-approved course for those interested in becoming licensed real estate salespersons beginning on Feb. 17.

The CBT will also conduct Real Estate Continuing Education (CE) Day on Feb. 21 for real estate salespeople and brokers who must complete it in order to maintain their licenses.

The CBT has also partnered with the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers (MBREA) to offer training to prepare individuals for a career in real estate appraisal. Regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required that those intertested in becoming real estate appraisers pass a licensing exam. In order to qualify to take this exam, individuals must complete a specified number of hours of education in an approved program, such as that offered at STCC, as well as apprenticeship hours working under a licensed appraiser.

Upcoming courses include Basic Appraisal Principles; Basic Appraisal Procedures; Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP); and USPAP Update.

Space is limited in all programs and interested individuals should go to http://cbt.stcc.edu or call the center at 755-4502 or 755-4225 to register.
