STCC offers prep course for real estate exam

SPRINGFIELD Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is a state-approved real estate school and The Center for Business and Technology (CBT) at STCC will offer "Preparation for the Real Estate Exam," a state-approved course for those interested in becoming licensed real estate salespersons, beginning on Feb. 5. The CBT also conducts continuing education courses that real estate salespeople and brokers must complete in order to maintain their licenses.

The CBT at STCC has also partnered with the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers (MBREA) to offer training to prepare individuals for a career in real estate appraisal. Regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts require that those interested in becoming real estate appraisers pass a licensing exam. In order to qualify to take this exam, individuals must complete a specified number of hours of education in an approved program, such as that offered at STCC, as well as apprenticeship hours working under a licensed appraiser.

Upcoming courses include: Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and USPAP Update.
