United Bank extends to Agawam and E. Longmeadow

United Financial Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") (NASDAQ: UBNK), parent corporation of United Bank (the "Bank") announced today that the Bank intends to open new full service branches in Agawam and East Longmeadow, Massachusetts during the first quarter of 2008, pending regulatory approval and local permitting.

"We are pleased to announce our expansion into these new markets," said Richard B. Collins, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "United Bank is already well known in both communities due to our busy branch offices located in neighboring Feeding Hills and Longmeadow. We look forward to offering residents and businesses of Agawam and East Longmeadow convenient banking, competitive products and the excellent service our customers are accustomed to. " The opening of these branch offices will increase the Bank's retail branch network to 15 full service banking offices.

The Agawam office will be a newly constructed free standing facility located at the corners of Suffield and Silver Streets, a busy crossroads and shopping destination. The branch will occupy approximately 3,000 square feet with drive-up teller and ATM and convenient access and parking. Development Associates of Agawam is the developer of this project and the adjacent 30,000 square foot medical/professional office building.

The East Longmeadow office will occupy 2,400 square feet of a new 30,000 square foot Class A office building located at 94 Shaker Road with drive-up teller and drive-up ATM access. According to Collins, this new branch "is a natural extension of the Bank's footprint serving East Longmeadow residents, businesses and commuters traveling along Shaker Road." The Pearson Companies of West Springfield are the developers of both the branch and office building.
