Women's Expo slated for October

Date: 3/13/2013

WEST SPRINGFIELD – The Western Massachusetts Women's Expo will take place Oct. 12 and 13 at the Better Living Center on the Eastern States Exposition grounds, home of the Big E.

The show is being produced by Jay Appleman, owner of Red Stone Promotions Inc., which sponsors various area consumer and trade shows. Appleman said the expo promises to be a weekend of fun for women of all ages and will offer fashion shows, dance lessons, great shopping, beauty makeovers and more.

Appleman is currently seeking vendors and said that this new location is an excellent venue for those whose businesses offer women's accessories, gifts, jewelry, cosmetics, makeovers, interior decorating, fitness, health and wellness products or services, weight loss aids, skin care, assistance with finances and cooking products or services. The event will also feature prizes, giveaways and free samples.

"This is an event where women can go and be introduced to all kinds of companies displaying products and services relating to the women's industry and have fun as well," Appleman said.

The expo premiered in 2011 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield but was not offered in 2012. Appleman is breathing new life into the event this year at a new, well-known location.

"Western Massachusetts needs and deserves a quality women's expo," Appleman said.

The hours of the expo are Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
