Yankee Mattress relocating Springfield store to Conn.

Date: 11/21/2012

SPRINGFIELD – Yankee Mattress Factory (YMF) is packing up its Springfield store at the Haymarket Square on Boston Road and moving to a new retail space located in Enfield, Conn., in the Stop & Shop Plaza on Hazard Avenue. The opening is scheduled for December.

"This move to a more convenient space in Enfield, Conn., will allow us to grow and introduce ourselves to a whole new market," Joseph Noblit of Westfield, owner of YMF, said.

"We have made some manufacturing adjustments that allow us to take advantage of mattress production innovations, but streamline the process enough to keep our quality product at an affordable price," he added.

YMF is now a family business, with son Nick joining the team in an administrative roll, which includes expanding YMF through social media.

"I am so proud to be a part of this business," Nick said.

According to Noblit, every mattress is assembled with painstaking attention to detail and unlike big factories that make hundreds of mattresses per day, YMF can take the necessary time needed to make each mattress perfect.

All manufacturing processes are performed following YMF's exclusive procedural guidelines to insure absolute, uncompromised quality.

Each sleep set is handcrafted to insure ultimate comfort, support and durability. YMF offers luxurious, handcrafted sleep sets in ultra plush, luxury firm and three levels of super firm mattresses.

Noblit has been in the mattress business for more than 24 years and his company has made thousands of quality mattress products for residents in western New England.

Noblit now manages three locations; a manufacturing and retail store at 314 Springfield St., in Agawam, another at 104 Damon Road in Northampton, and the new retail space in Enfield, Conn., on Hazard Avenue.

Proving the success of this locally-owned and operated business, YMF has once again been awarded best Local Mattress Store in the Advocate Best of the Valley Readers' Poll 2010-2012.
