CPR Saturday 2008 to take place at MassMutual Center
SPRINGFIELD On Feb. 9, CPR Saturday 2008, presented by Bank of America, will take place at the MassMutual Center, Springfield.
Thanks to a generous grant from Bank of America, participants will have the opportunity to be trained in Adult CPR for a nominal fee of just $10 per person ($5 for students and seniors). The training will teach the skills needed for participants to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. A limited number of spaces are available for additional training in Automated External Defibrillators (AED). This year there will be a CPR course offered in Spanish, allowing individuals to learn in their native language.
Adult CPR 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Adult CPR w/AED 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Adult CPR (Spanish) 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
We project that between 300 and 350 men and women from the greater Springfield area will be trained on CPR Saturday this year. In addition, we anticipate the use of many community volunteers, serving in various capacities including as instructors, publicity / recruitment / planning committee members, set-up and clean-up personnel and greeters. Our goal is to encourage the participation of as many individuals and groups from the community as possible.
Participants who pass their written test and successfully demonstrate their skills will be presented with their American Red Cross certification cards at the event.
CPR Saturday 2008 is an important educational opportunity that can have a great impact on saving lives in our community and beyond.
The event will take place Feb. 9 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. Pre-registration is required. A limited number of Adult CPR with AED will be offered and class will be filled based on order of registration. ASL interpreters will be available as needed.
