East Village Place associates gain dementia practitioner certificationDate: 8/21/2015 EAST LONGMEADOW – Thirteen additional associates of East Village Place have received certifications from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners is an organization that promotes standards of excellence in dementia and Alzheimer’s education.
These certified dementia practitioners interact daily with residents and families of the memory care neighborhood of East Village Place, 50 Benton St.
Those certified include not only direct caregivers but also associates in housekeeping, food service, office management, and reception.
Currently more than half of all East Village Place associates are nationally certified dementia practitioners.
“There is always more to learn and at East Village Place, we firmly believe in learning as much as we can in order to bring out the best in each other and our residents,” Pam Skiba, executive director of East Village Place, said.
“Specialized training in memory care is an investment that equips our associates with valuable knowledge and skills they employ every day to enhance people’s lives,” she added.
