Horizons for Homeless Children seeking volunteers
BOSTON Horizons for Homeless Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs and services for homeless children throughout Greater Boston and Massachusetts. Horizons for Homeless Children continues to recruit new volunteers to work with homeless children living in family and domestic violence shelters. We work with shelters in and around your neighborhood and are eager to connect with people within the community you serve.
Horizons for Homeless Children is immediately seeking 60 volunteers to interact and play with children living in 16 family, teen parent and domestic violence shelters in Western Massachusetts. A commitment of two hours a week for six months is required. We offer daytime and evening shifts, so there is likely to be one that fits your schedule. It is a rewarding and fun experience for everyone involved.
The next training sessions will be Jan. 12, for playspaces and shelters in Springfield, Holyoke, Adams, Northampton, Orange/Athol, Greenfield and Pittsfield. Please contact Brigid Williams for information or to register for training at 532- 0526 or bwilliams@horizonsforhomelesschildren.org.
