Importance of massage to be discussed
CHICOPEE The Chicopee Public Library will welcome Gina Welch, Licensed Massage Therapist, to give a Monday evening talk that will educate people about their muscles and the health benefits of massage and CranioSacral Therapy, which assists their bodies' innate ability to heal.
"People don't realize that an overused, contracted muscle is so strong that it bulges discs, numbs fingers and causes sciatica or chronic headaches and migraines," Welch said. "It has been my experience that many of these symptoms can be resolved through massage."
Welch is Upledger trained, as well as Kripalu certified. She recently opened the CranioSacral and Massage Center Inc. in Chicopee, where she offers Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy and CranioSacral Therapy.
The talk is free and will be given in the Conference Room of the Chicopee Public Library, 449 Front St., on March 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please call 594-1800 ext. 108 for more information.
