NAMI prepares for April 23 walk-a-thon
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Western Massachusetts, NAMI-WM, will host its 6th Annual Walkathon at Forest Park in Springfield on April 23.
Mental illness strikes all races, all ages, and has no sexual bias. The diagnoses include clinical depression, eating disorders, substance abuse, bipolarity (manic depression), schizophrenia, post partum depression and teen suicide. The Alliance works to help provide support services to clients and their families; it also works to educate the public about mental illnesses and to dispell stigmas related to mental illness.
For more information about the Walkathon, contact the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Western Massachusetts at 786-9139.
