Noble Hospital announces co-chairs for annual fundraising ball

WESTFIELD – Noble Hospital is proud to announce that Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Strzempko and Dr. Brian Sutton and Mrs. Cherie Santagate-Sutton are the co-chairs of the 48th annual Noble Hospital Ball on Nov. 3 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

The theme of this year's Ball is Viva Las Vegas. The evening will include live entertainment by the Boston band Beantown, a gourmet meal, dancing, gambling, and silent and live auctions. The signature fundraising event for the Hospital, this black-tie gala provides financial support to enhance the outstanding level of care our community has come to expect from Noble Hospital.

Proceeds from this year's event will go towards purchasing new patient room furnishings, which will enable Noble to offer a more modern and comfortable experience to patients and their families.

The Strzempkos grew up in Western Massachusetts and have lived in Westfield for 18 years. Mrs. Strzempko is a professor of biology at Springfield Technical Community College, is an active member of the YMCA, and was a swim coach at the Y.

Dr. Strzempko has served in the U.S. Navy. He has been the Emergency Room chief and is currently the vice president of Medical Affairs at Noble Hospital. He continues to actively practice Emergency Medicine at Noble, where he has worked for 18 years. He is the president and founder of Westfield Emergency Physicians.

A member of many local Boards of Trustees, Dr. Strzempko is a current trustee at Noble Hospital and a member of the Westfield Board of Health. He has received awards from the YMCA, and is the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield's volunteer medical consultant.

The Strzempkos have three children, Alexandra, 23, Joseph, 21, and Anna, 17.

The Suttons are parents to Frances, 21, Adam, 18, and Rosie, 15.

Mrs. Santagate-Sutton is a chemistry teacher at Agawam High School. She volunteers with the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary's Parish, is a class representative for Elms College Class of 1986, and is a former trustee at Elms College.

Dr. Sutton is the assistant director of the Emergency Department and has worked at Noble since 1997. He has been the medical director of Westfield State University Health Services for two years. Dr. Sutton has volunteered at the Greater Westfield Free Health Clinic since its inception, and for the past 10 years has been the volunteer medical director for the YMCA's Camp Shepard.

Drs. Strzempko and Sutton serve as the Westfield Public Schools physicians.

With more than 600 employees, Noble Hospital serves more than 150,000 patients annually through many inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services. The hospital also provided more than $4 million in charity and uncompensated care in 2011.
