Portrait session fundraiser to benefit Baystate Children's HospitalDate: 12/23/2008 SPRINGFIELD To raise much-needed funds for Baystate Children's Hospital in Springfield, Robert Charles Photography in East Longmeadow is donating $50 from every portrait session purchased between now and Dec. 24.
This is the third year Robert Charles Photography has offered this program and to date, they have been able to raise over $20,000 for Baystate Children's Hospital. This year they hope to exceed $25,000. The Holiday Collection program being offered by the nationally known photography studio includes a photographic session and matted 8x10 portrait signed by the artist, a $330 value, for $149. All sessions purchased by Dec. 24 are to take place between January and April of 2009. For every collection sold, the studio will donate $50 to Baystate Children's Hospital.
To make it easier for families to participate in this year's fundraising effort, Robert Charles Photography has sponsored a display at the Holyoke Mall. "We invite people to stop by and visit us while doing their holiday shopping," said Edward Zemba, co-owner. "They can purchase a holiday collection, or simply make a donation of any size directly to Baystate Children's Hospital." For anyone who makes a donation, Robert Charles Photography will provide them with a set of Baystate Children's Hospital greeting cards. Staff and volunteers will be available during mall hours until Dec. 24. The exhibit is located in front of Hannoush Jewelers.
Ely Dunn, manager of Baystate Children's Hospital, said the support of members from the business community like Robert Charles Photography is invaluable to the network's ongoing mission. "We are delighted that such world-renowned photographers as those at Robert Charles Photography recognize the importance of having a facility such as Baystate Children's Hospital right in their back yard," said Dunn.
