MARE will sponsor two adoption events in the month of October

The Western MA Adoption Unit of the Department of Social Services and the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) will sponsor two adoption events in the month of Oct. and Nov. to help educate families about and recruit families for "children in foster care waiting for their forever adoptive family."

Informational meeting about adoption from foster care and adoption process Oct. 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Ludlow Community Center, 91 Claudia's Way in Ludlow. Meet area social workers. Learn about specific children living in foster who are waiting to be adopted. Any home studied family or anyone interested in learning about adoption should attend. To adopt you may be any age over 21, single, married, partnered, own or rent a home and be almost any income level.

Adoption Party "Family Connection 2006" Nov. 4 from 1-3:30 p.m., Ludlow Community Center. Meet "waiting children" and their social workers, listen to a panel discussion of previous adoptive families, and join the fun with indoor and outdoor recreational games and activities. Free light breakfast and lunch will be served. Anyone interested in adoption from foster care should attend.
