Celebrate life, legacy of MLK Jr. at Eastfield Mall

SPRINGFIELD Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services Inc. and Eastfield Mall present the sixth annual Multi-Cultural Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 18 at the Eastfield Mall.

The day begins at 10 a.m. at Eastfield Mall's Center Court with a formal opening ceremony fea-turing local dignitaries and public officials.

The day's festivities continue with an uplifting performance by the MLK Jr. Charter School of Excellence Youth Choir and an array of other community perfor-mances and entertainment by youth including DREAM Studio, En Motion Dance Studio and Elder Zachary Reynolds and Greater Harvest Choir. Add-itionally, James Harrison will present a reading of King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

A community service exposition from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will include health and human service agencies and education program representatives through-out the mall offering important information and resources to the community.
