Whether it was mixing and shaping Chanukah cookies, molding fudgy chocolate gelt (coins) or arranging an edible vegetable menorah, families that participated in Cooking with Parents II at Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) enjoyed their chef experience.

Cooking with Parents II featured recipes to enhance the Chanukah holiday. This hands on interactive cooking program is funded through a grant from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

“This program surpassed our expectations,” Lilia Luzhanskiy, LYA Early Childhood director and coordinator of Cooking with Parents, said.

“LYA is proud to offer quality family education programming that offers real experiential learning for the entire family, as well as provides memories that will enhance their holiday celebrations,” she added.

In addition to cooking, the crowd of more than 80 participants, which included children, parents and grandparents, also enjoyed creating unique Chanukah crafts. There were centerpieces to be made, Chanukah hats with special messages to be designed and PJLibrary books to be read. For more information, visit www.lya.org.
