| SPRINGFIELD The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with "Discovering Dinosaurs." Activities are free with the price of museum admission unless noted. Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by T.D. Banknorth. Scheduled presentations: Learn all about dinosaurs with Pat the Paleontologist as he roams through the museum; 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Science Museum. Juggle Joy performs "Why Did the Dinosaur Cross the Road;" 1 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts. Pat the Paleontologist present "Digging in Your Own Backyard," a slide show about New England dinosaurs; 2 and 2:30 p.m., Science Museum. Ongoing activities: Visit the special exhibit "Dinosaurs! Land, Sea and Air" and see moving, roaring prehistoric creatures; Science Museum ($3 per person ages three and up). Make your own prehistoric pet; 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Science Museum. Make a flying pteranodon; noon - 3:45 p.m., G.W.V. Smith Art Museum. Dinosaur hands-on Family Science: play games and build puzzles; noon - 3:45 p.m., Science Museum. Uncover the "Mystery of the Disappearing Dinosaurs" in a special planetarium show; 2 p.m., Science Museum (additional fee). The Springfield Museums are located on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards St. in downtown Springfield. Free parking is available in the Edwards Street parking lots. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Science Museum open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and college students, $5 for children three - 17 and free for children under three and museum members. Springfield residents receive free general admission with proof of address. The fee provides admission to all four Springfield Museums and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.
