Free financial aid event at the Basketball Hall of Fame

SPRINGFIELD The Valley Opportunity Council Inc., the ACCESS Springfield Promise Program and the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts are hosting Coaching for College: A Playbook for College Success on Dec. 10 from 5:30 until 7:45 p.m. at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

This free event will inform high school students and their parents/guardians about the college process. There will be short presentations on financial aid, scholarships and loans from the Educational Opportunity Center, GEAR UP, Educational Talent Search, the ACCESS Springfield Promise Program, the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts and MassMutual. Representatives from area colleges, scholarship foundations and community action agencies will be available to answer questions.
